Gerry LaRue Blair, born January 3, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away on September 6, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 65.

Gerry was the beloved son of Fay Ann Blair and Marvin Carson. He grew up in Kansas City and attended Central High School, where he began shaping the vibrant personality and infectious spirit that would follow him throughout his life.

Gerry had a deep love for skating and a car-passion that brought him joy and connected him with many friends over the years. His smile and laughter could light up any room, leaving lasting memories with everyone he encountered. Gerry was the kind of person you never forgot — truly, the life of the party. He gave his all to those he loved. He celebrated your wins like they were his own, and when life got hard, he stood by your side without hesitation.

Gerry worked for Graybar Electrical Company of Kansas City, where he was able to travel to San Diego, California and Houston, Texas, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. Beyond his career, Gerry cherished the community he found on 33rd and Agnes Ave. and later 33rd and Montgall Ave. in Kansas City, where he built an extended family of love, support, and lifelong bonds.

Above all, Gerry treasured his family. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the lights of his life, and his love for them was boundless.

Gerry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be remembered for the warmth he carried in his heart, his devotion to family, and the joy he spread wherever he went.

Gerry was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Corine Carson and Ethel Mae Wilson; his father, Marvin Randolph Carson; his brother, DeWayne Blair, and twin sister, Terry Ann Blair.

Left to cherish Gerry's memory in their hearts: his son, Drew Ashley, his daughter, Ti'Andra Blair; grandson, Carlos Barr-Johnson Jr.; granddaughters: Carliea Johnson and Carmiea Johnson; great-granddaughter, Marliea Crosby, his beloved mother, Fay Ann Blair; his sister, Valorie Skulason (Svan); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
