Gilda L Edwards

Gilda L. Edwards- Born in KCMO June 1,1937 died October 27,2018. She was born the fourth daughter in the marriage of Thomas and Helen Caldwell. Both parents and her 3 sisters Shirley Partee, Carolyn Mosby and Laura Caldwell preceded her in death.

She attended Wendell Phillips Elementary, continuing to graduate from Lincoln High School in 1955. She was very active in school activities, being a Majorette and Commander, a member of Y-Teens, French club, National Honor Society, and ROTC Queen while also being on the Honor Roll.

She went to work for the Post Office as a Mail Handler for 18 years, Owned and operated a KC Star paper route, worked at Sears Surplus until it closed. Also had an Antique Booth at Clay Como Antique Mall where she became Assistant Manager. Her last job was at Dickson-Diveley in medical records at the St. Luke’s Medical Building.

In her spare time, she loved finding hidden treasures at the many thrift shops around town.

She leaves one son, Mark T. Edwards, who will miss her dearly, three granddaughters, LaShena Graham-Hayes (Shaun), Aliyah Edwards (Craig), and Andrea Edwards, two grandsons Terence Edwards(Susie), and Andrey Edwards, 14 great-grandchildren, including Sidney, Kyng and Cariss, with a host of other relatives and friends
