Gladys L. Quinn was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on November 30,1932 to Dorsey Lee Mitchell Sr. and Eunice L. Gates. Gladys was the first born of twelve children. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri, when she was 17 years old. She received her education from the Kansas City Missouri school district. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Baptist Church.

In 1952, Gladys was united in marriage to Arthur Quinn and from this union four children were born three sons Howard, Arthur, Johnny, & one daughter Bonnie. She worked for Cal Hutchins Nursing Home as a cook for 17 years, and later she moved on to work for the Kansas City Missouri school district as a cook where she retired after 12 years.

She loved cooking, watching her daily soap operas and judge shows. Traveling to Colorado to spend time with her family was a highlight she enjoyed, she loved her family. Most of all she loved being a grandma.

In 1973, she joined Bethel Baptist Church where she served as an usher and was a part of many ministries until her passing. She loved her church home and church family dearly.

Gladys passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She was preceded in death by her Husband Arthur Quinn, Mother and Father- Dorsey and Eunice Mitchell; Brothers; William Mitchell and Dorsey Mitchell Jr. Sisters; Minnie Wilkerson and Bernice Trimble. Grandchildren; Alaysia White and Xavier Quinn.

To Cherish a lifetime of memories, she leaves her Children- Howard Quinn, Arthur Quinn (Carolyn), of Denver, CO, Bonnie Pouncil and Johnny Quinn of Kansas City, MO. Siblings- Eddie Mae Booker, of Kansas City, MO, Eloise Hawkins of Lakewood, CO, James Mitchell(JD), Joe Mitchell (Bea), J.T. Mitchell, Charles Mitchell (Charlene) of Kansas City, MO, Vernell Mitchell of Denver, CO.

Grandchildren; Howard Rollie, Taheasha Quinn-Miller, Kenyetietta Quinn, Gaynell Pouncil, Janell Pouncil-White, Quiana Medlock, and Joshua Bosley.14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memory.
