Gloria Jean Bennett

Gloria Jean Bennett, age 77, passed away on June 25, 2026, at Seasons Healthcare Center, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Gloria was born on January 17, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to Otis Jeff Wesson Sr. and Eleanor Wesson, and attended Central High School.

Gloria was very gifted in the kitchen and worked for many years as a dietary manager and cook. She really mastered making bellies happy. She also worked as a customer service specialist for Wal-Mart for 10+ years.

Gloria was a lover of art and expressed it in many forms, such as poetry, drawing, or painting. Gloria was an exceptional crochet artist and loved sharing her work with her friends and family.

More than anything, Gloria was a lover of Jesus Christ and a true child of God.

Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents: Eleanor and Otis Jeff Wesson, Sr., stepfather, Charles Chaney (Daddy); son, Brandon L. Bennett; daughter, Monica Denise Chaney; brother, Williams Carter, and Doggyson Thursty.

To cherish Gloria’s memory is her daughter, Benita Conley; grandsons, Brandan, Charles, and Griffin; granddaughter, Zaria; brother, Jeff; Sisters in Christ, Mattie Guillory and Diane Bauer; and sister/cousin, Jamesetta Celestine).
