Gloria Jean Clinton was born on June 4, 1958, in Sledge, MS to JT Clinton, Sr., and Christine Clinton. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Paseo High School in 1976. She later received a diploma in medical assisting and went on to complete her Associate in Arts for Nursing in 1991 from Penn Valley Community College. Her love for the medical field lead her to work in numerous positions in the medical industry. She later retired after working across organizations including Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Gloria gave her life to Christ as a child and was a longstanding member of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ for more than 40 years under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Scott, where she faithfully served as the church nurse. She loved the Lord, enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the tambourine, and working on the kitchen ministry. She was honored in 2016 by Gethsemane's Pastor Daryl Randolph for her longevity, commitment, and excellence to the nursing ministry.
Later, Gloria became a member at Memorial Church International in 2005 under the leadership of Apostle Larry B. and Pastor Olivia C.Q. Aiken where she served on the Powerfeast Ministry for several years.
Gloria was a woman full of faith and would minister about the goodness of the Lord to anyone who listened. She lived a life of kindness and love towards others.
One of her favorite things to do was video record and take pictures during family gatherings, listen to gospel music, watch Wheel of Fortune, and cook Thanksgiving dinners where her famous homemade cornbread dressing and caramel cakes were highly requested.
Gloria was preceded in death by both parents and leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Sherenna (Kenneth), siblings Bessie Gray (Gene), JT Clinton, Jr., Diane Clinton-White (Charles), Doris “Kricket” Fuller, and Ted; nieces and nephews (and greats) Jesse, Sr. (Tamika), Jesse, Jr., Jasmine, Jalia, Gene, Jr., Tiffany, LeJuan, LaTia, Amber, Crystal (Darrin), Stacey, Jaleesa (Sherrod), Monique, Cortland, Courtney, Justin, Jai’Sean, Sofia, Arielle, Zaria, Kali and Darriona; and a host of great aunts and great uncles and other relatives.
