Gregory Williams

Gregory “Greg” Williams 56 of Grandview, Missouri passed away February 4, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.  Greg was born July 11, 1964 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his Father Eddie L. Williams and his mother Bertha M. Williams.

Gregory graduated from Paseo High school in 1982.  He attended UMKC where he received a Bachelor of Business Degree.  Beginning at the age of 16, Greg worked at Sears for 12 years.  At the time of his passing he had been working at O'Reilly Automotive for 28 years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.

Greg was a devoted husband to his wife, Gennene Williams whom he married on November 2, 2002 and father to their daughter Kamryn Gennene Williams, of the home. Greg is survived by his sister LaTonya D. (Randy) Shed of St. Louis, Missouri, four brothers; Darryl Wayne (Deborah) Jackson of Greenwood, Arkansas, Edward D. Williams (Fiance, Angela Woods) of Kansas City, Missouri,  Barry L. Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, and Reginald K. (Terricita) Williams of Lenexa, Kansas, and an Aunt Cassandra McIntosh of Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, he leaves behind a host of family and friends.

Greg loved the Lord and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was an active member of the Swope Parkway Church of Christ, and enjoyed praising the Lord in song with the New Inspirations choir, W.O.R.D., (Worshiping Our Redeemer Daily), One Voice and Men's Ensemble.

Greg had a kind and compassionate spirit and never complained while going through many years of cancer treatment. He was always grateful for each day that the Lord allowed him to see.  In spite of the pain and many challenges he stayed strong until the end.
