Guthrine Hitchye

Guthrine Hitchye (“Gurt”) was born the oldest of 8 siblings to the late parents of Hosea and Elzrino Howell in Tullahassee, Oklahoma where she received her education in the area public schools.

Guthrine met and married the love of her life Donald Ray Hitchye before moving and settling down with her family in Kansas City, Missouri soon afterwards. Guthrine worked in Kansas City as a telephone operator for AT&T, where she retired with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed music and loved her family and took the opportunities presented to let them know they were special to her.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Lee Howell, daughter Dondi Kaye Hitchye and grandson Kevin Hitchye, Jr., Guthrine leaves to cherish her memories:  her husband Donald Ray Hitchye and two sons - Kevin F. Hitchye and family (Yakima, Washington), Steven L. Hitchye and family (Kansas City, Missouri); 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren;  4 Sisters, 2 brothers and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
