Harold Augustus Berry III, affectionately known as HB, was born on October 17, 1989, in St. Louis, MO. He is the eldest of three children born to Harold Berry Jr and Kimberly Berry. Harold professed his faith in Christ as a young child attending Our Lady of Guadalupe School in St. Louis MO. He then transferred to the Normandy School District and then the St. Louis Public School District where he met his middle school sweetheart, and the mother of his three children, Gracie Robinson. Harold later transferred to the Olathe Public School System in Olathe Kansas, where he received his high school diploma from Olathe Northwest.
As a youth, Harold enjoyed playing basketball with his neighborhood friends. While he was short in stature, he made up for it in skill and charisma and gained many lifelong friends through this pastime.
Upon graduating high school, Harold gained employment at UPS where he had worked for the past 15 years. Harold loved his job and has gained many friends and family members amongst the ranks. While he loved his job, he was most proud of being a dad, and often worked second or third shift to assure that he could be home with his sons before they started school and to see his daughter off to school each day. In Harold’s last days on this earth, his oldest son desired to have his father walk him to the bus and give him a hug and a kiss before leaving for school Harold quickly jumped into action and complied with one of his son’s last requests of him.
Harold loved old school music, cooking and cleaning, being the life of the party, dressing in his own unique style and entertaining his friends and family. Harold’s charm, wit and sense of humor drew people to him. He never met a stranger and made sure all his friends knew they had a brother in him. Harold sheltered several his friends assisting them with getting on their own feet.
Harold is proceeded in death by his grandfather, Harold J. Briggs and grandmother Daisy M. Briggs (Alfonso Whitney), close friends Jurl, Rob and Zoe along with his cousin Devin Houston.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted middle school sweetheart: Gracie Robinson; their three children: Alexis Berry, Harold Berry IV, and Ha’Rell Berry; his father and mother: Harold and Kimberly Berry; his beloved brothers: Marsalis and Joshua Berry; a nephew: Marsalis Berry Jr; grandmother: Anna Briggs; special cousin/sister: Breanna Briggs; God-Mother: Jennifer McCurry; and a special aunt: Karien Mack who counseled him often, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and the Robinson family and friends.
