Mrs. Hazel Irene Cummings was born July 27, 1947 to the union of Merle and Maydena Cummings- Maynard in Fort Scott, Kansas. Hazel received her education in Fort Scott, Kansas and moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1966. Hazel started her work in Nursing Homes as a Caregiver and later worked at Linwood Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr, and Carver Christian Schools as a cook and lunchroom attendant. She also opened her home and loving heart to provide for the many children in her home Day Care.
Hazel accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Fort Scott, Kansas, she later joined Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Curford E. Dixon Sr. and served in the choir. Hazel was a faithful member of Trinity for over 30 years.
Hazel married Charles E. Hubbard Jr. September 5, 1967 who preceded her in death, to this union 2 sons were born, Robert A. Hubbard and Charles E. Hubbard III. Hazels parents, spouse, 1 grandson, Michael Hubbard, 8 sisters, and 4 brothers proceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her sweet and loving memories 3 daughters, Terri Robinson (Kenneth), Ashley Cummings of Kansas City, Missouri and Tammy Carroll (Cole) of Topeka, Kansas, 4 sons, Mark A. Nelson (Debbie), Robert Hubbard, Charles Hubbard III (Dianne) all of Kansas City Missouri and Ricke Collins of Topeka, Kansas. 1 sister Marcella Cowan of Kansas City, Missouri and a special sister Valerie Hubbard Broils of Katy, Texas. 22 grandkids, 28 great grand kids, special loved ones, Dianne Hubbard, Shawnna Howard, Regina Cummings and Pastor Curford Dixon Sr. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
