Helen Edwards

Helen Francis Edwards, 72, departed her life on, September 19, 2021 at home surrounded by her husband, children, and family. She was born on, October 31, 1948 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Cornelius Sr. and Dessie Bell Ruff, who both proceed her in death.

She is also preceded in death by: daughter, Damone Ruff; brothers, Jessie J Ruff, Cecil Ruff, and Glen Ruff; sisters, Lillie Bell Ruff, Ora Lee Young, and Louise Ruff; as well as other loving family members.

Helen was very family oriented, she loved being surrounded by her family and friends laughing and having fun.  She loved helping others when needed. Although she was a good listener, she could also be stern when needed. She loved celebrating holidays and loved cooking for family gatherings.

Helen was married to Heron Edwards for 50 yrs. who stood by her side until the Lord called her home.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Heron Edwards; two sons, Kris L. Ruff (PaQuita), and Heron Dwayne Edwards; two daughters, Myris Pruitt (Andrew), and Rochelle Ruff; one brother, Cornelius Ruff, Jr. (Mary); two sisters, Maryann Gordon, and Merry J. Ruff; 11 grandchildren, Taleshia Ruff, Rachelle Powell (Evan), Shamika Wedlow, Rodney Logan, Jr., James Wedlow IV, Theodore Brown III, Janeshia Ruff, Kris Ruff Jr, Javeion Boltin, Ma’lik Maxwell, and Elijah Ballard Sr; 16 great-grandchildren, RayTravion Wilson, Tayeron Ruff, Evan Powell Jr, Travion Verge, DaShawn Logan, Shamarr Wedlow, Iriana Logan, Landon Robinson, Leigh’miyah Wedlow, Jaliyaha Ruff, Tylen Brown, Messiha Maxwell, Malachia Maxwell, JaCeion Ballard, E’Niyha Ballard, and Elijah Ballard, Jr.; her best friend/sister of 52 yrs., Betty Cozart; and a host of nieces and nephews.
