Mother Helen Mae Green second daughter born to Jasper Fisher and Jessie Fisher, on July 19, 1925 in El Reno Oklahoma. Mother Green lived a Godly and fulfilled life, at the age of 95 years old, until the Lord called her home on November 30, 2020. Her husband, Leonard Green; parents Jasper and Jessie Fisher; sister Hazel; brothers Willie, Glen and Obidee preceded her in death. Mother Green attended Booker T. Washington School in El Reno, OK. In 1954, Mother Green met and married Leonard Green. To this union, two children were born, Merle Wayne and Judy.
Mother Green loved God and loved people. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member for many years at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, under the leadership of Rev. R.L. Holt. Mother Green was not only a faithful member, but she also served faithfully on the Mother Board and Mission Department. Mother Green loved helping and serving people whenever she could. She enjoyed visiting the nursing homes and hospitals ministering the word of God and comfort through conversation encouraging people through prayer. Mother Green was always available to assist in whatever areas that she could, if that meant assisting and taking people to the store, to their doctor’s appointment, bank or wherever they needed to go. She was always available.
Mother Green was a sharp dresser. Mother loved her hats, suits, shoes, scarves, and jewelry. She always made sure that everything was color coordinated, whether it was causal or dressy everything matched perfectly. Mother Green was an avid sports fan. She loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs, KC Royals, Tennis, and even Golf.
Mother Green loved her family and her family loved her. She was always willing to help and assist and provide for her family when they needed it. Mother was loved and respected by everyone. She was truly a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
On November 30, 2020, God prepared an eternal resting place for Mother Green and called her home. Mother Green leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Merle Chapel, of El Reno, OK; her daughter Judy Diamond of Kansas City, MO; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Opal Fisher of El Reno, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives.
