Helen {Henderson} Johnson,  departed this life unexpectedly on June 16, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 91.

Helen is survived by, her sibling, Lacey Lee Lucky of Dallas, TX; and her children, Lonnie Henderson, Regina (Tony) Jones, and Renita Henderson all  of Kansas City, Missouri..

She is preceded in death by, her mother and father; her 1st husband, Willie Lee Henderson;  her  2nd husband,  Clay Johnson Jr; her grandson, Tyrell Jones; one brother, Robert Cater; and one sister Ella Mae Harris.

Helen was born on June 28, 1928 in Longview, TX to Robert Carter Luberta (Mrs. Hester) Hunter. She went to school in Pleasant Hill, TX. She married Willie Lee. After moving to Kansas City, Missouri, Helen began working for Kress/Kmart as a cook for over 35 years. Three children were born to Helen. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven mother who encouraged them to purse their goals. In 1997 she married, Clay Johnson.

Helen was accomplished at cooking, sewing, cooking Sunday dinners,  and having the family eat together. She was a dedicated individual who loved family and who was passionate about keeping her family together. She was an active and dedicated member of the Prince of Peace Missionary Church.

Helen leaves behind to cherish her memories: two daughters, Regina (Tony) Jones and Renita Henderson of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Lonnie (Donna) Henderson of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Lucy of Arlington, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mannie Joe Cater of Greenville, Texas; five grandchildren, Marchand (Damon) Jenkins, Akia Henderson, Tonieka Jones, Tasha Jones and Kylie Henderson all of Kansas City, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and one special great-great grandson.
