On October 3, 1953, a handsome baby boy was born to Ned King and Dorether Brenson. He was the first son, but the second of eight children. In 1959 Henry moved to Kansas City, Missouri and has been a lifelong resident.
Henry attended both Central and Westport High schools in Kansas City Missouri until joining the United States Army in 1973. He served 13 years and, in that time, achieved the rank of E4- Private First Class. During his time in the military, Henry was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badge among other honors.
After leaving the service, Henry began working various jobs for the City of Kansas City, Missouri until he became employed with The Veterans Administration, where he worked until his retirement. In life, Henry loved skating, was a great two stepper, and could BBQ like no other; lovingly referred to as ‘The Grill Master’.
In April 1992, Henry married Michelle Bell, in Kansas City, Missouri and they were happily married until the time of her passing in July 2012.
Henry was preceded in death by Virgie West (grandmother), Dorether Brenson (mother), Michelle Brenson (wife), his four-legged son - Prince, Maxine Nevels (sister), and Ray Brenson Sr. (brother).
He leaves to cherish his memory: four sisters, Charlene Brewster, Maggie Mujahid, Mary Brenson, and Darlene Brenson-Hughes (Theodore); one brother, Ronald Brenson Sr. (Diccie) and sister-in-love, Petrina Brenson; all of Kansas City, Missouri.
