Henry James Marks, Sr., 85, passed away March 25, 2019 at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on January 13, 1934 in Curtis, Arkansas to A.D Marks and Lula Mae Marks. He grew up in Curtis, Arkansas and graduated from Peake High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
After graduating high school, Henry moved to Kansas City, Missouri and began employment with Tension Envelope where he worked for over 10 years. He then attended KC Barber College and received his barber license and cut hair part time for many years. He retired after 20 years of service from Western Electric.
Henry was an outdoors person. He was a hunter, gardener and was an avid fisherman. He loved animals and animals loved him too. He enjoyed listening to jazz music and watching college football while eating ginger snaps. Henry loved his family and was a proud father and grandfather.
He was preceded into death by his parents; his first wife; Anna Mae Nelson, his grandson; Isiah Marks, and sister in-law; Opal Lorene Marks.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Lee Marks; brother Gary Marks of Kansas City, KS; daughter, Gail White-Baker of Grandview, MO, sons, Henry Jr. of Falls Church, VA; Victor Marks of Raymore, MO; Gregory Marks of Dallas, TX; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren other relative and friends.
