Heron Edwards

Heron A. Edwards, 80, departed his life on March 23, 2023, at home.  He was born on March 3, 1943, in Belden, Mississippi to the late Charlie Edwards, and Lessie Moody, who both preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by his wife: Helen F Edwards; grandson: Heron D Edwards Jr; daughter: Damone Ruff; brothers: Grover Edwards, Robert Edwards, Willie Edwards, Charles Edwards, and Herman Edwards; and one sister: Helen Hodges.

Heron was a very fun and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.  He loved when family came to visit to just sit and talk with him, he loved playing dominos, barbecuing and joking with the family especially the grandkids. He always had a story to tell, and his old saying was “the ideal about it”. Heron loved traveling home to Mississippi to see family and friends.

He took care of his wife until the day the Lord called her in 2021.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons: Heron D Edwards Sr, and Kris L Ruff Sr (PaQuita); two daughters: Myris Pruitt (Andrew), and Rochelle Ruff; one step-daughter: Vida Downs; two sisters: Bessie Thornton, and Jerelden Green; grandchildren: Taleshia Ruff, Rachelle Powell (Evan), Shamika Wedlow, Rodney Logan Jr., James Wedlow Jr., Theodore Brown III, Jeneshia Ruff, Kris Ruff Jr, Javeion Boltin, Malik Maxwell, and Elijahjuan Ballard Sr., 17 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.
