Howard Gant

Howard Cordell Gant, 89, departed this life on June 22, 2022, at his home.  He was born on January 15, 1955, in Blackburn, Missouri to Alfred Gant and Alverta Jackson.

He graduated from R. T. Cole High School in Kansas City, Missouri.  After high school he enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and served his country for two years.  He achieved the rank of P.V.T.

He later began working for University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music (UMKC) as the Head Coordinator for 37 years.  He retired in 1997 after 37 years.  He was involved in the St. Andrews Grand Lodge.

He married Gertrude Gant on April 14, in Marshall, Missouri.  They were happily married for 56 years.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, three sisters, two brothers, and three great-great grandsons.

He leaves to cherish he memories, one sister, one daughter, one son, six grandchildren: Shanna Gant Fugate (Rita), Mario Gant, Marlon Gant, Tracy Gant (Penny), Robin Phillips (Scott), Brian Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.
