Listen to Obituary

On January 13, 1944, the world was blessed with Ira Williams whom spread his love throughout the world. Born in Kansas City, Mo, Ira was the oldest of two children of the union of Mr. Ira Lee Williams Sr. and Mrs. Addie (Lewis)Williams.

Ira gave his life to Christ at a young age, realizing that having a spiritual relationship would help him navigate through life’s journey. Ira received his education from Manual Tech in Kansas City, MO. In 1973 Ira joined hands in Holy Matrimony to Lolita Bailey.

Ira was employed as a dry-cleaning specialist with multiple agencies in both Missouri and Kansas. Ira enjoyed basketball, football, and skating in his youth, he also had an affinity for watching Western Classics whenever he had the chance. Ira would always greet you with a smile and never seemed to meet a stranger.

On June 14, 2017, the Lord whispered to Ira and said, “no more pain and suffering, job well done.” Ira was a devoted father to his children, step-children, and grand-children. The memories of him will be missed dearly by family members and friends alike.

Ira leaves to cherish his loving memory: one brother Sherman Williams of Sacramento, CA; five daughters; Roshall Harvey-Holmes (Clarence) of Columbia, Mo, Veronica Wright of Independence, Mo, Carla Tindall (James) of Lee’s Summit, Mo, Samantha Wright of Raytown, Mo, and Ebony Williams of Raytown, Mo. Step-children; Michael Sheppard (Jane), Tammy Finnell, and Stephanie Lasswell (Jason). Eleven grand-children; Nakesha Wright, Makeesha Hill, Clifton Hill, Tyshella Harvey, Tyrone Parrish, Tywon Parrish, Nashae Prince,Aliyah Harvey, Vontrez Williams, Von’Tazia Guthrie, and Javon Brown.
