Ms. Iva K. Hampton made her exit from Earth to be with her Heavenly Father on May 30, 2022, Memorial Day, at 10:40am.  She was surrounded by her loved ones in her home going.

Ms. Iva K. Hampton was born on July 4, 1941 in Topeka, Kanas to her mother Virginia Mae Mewborn, who is from Paris, Texas and her father Rufus B. Belton, who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana who both proceeded her into death.Ms. Iva K. Hampton stated her life in Topeka, Kansas with her siblings, sister; Darlene Belton of Orlando, Florida and her bother; Cleaveland Belton of Omaha, who also proceeded her into death.

Ms. Hampton’s mother moved to Kansas City, MO where she also has a stepsister, Noel Brummall, who also resides in Kansas City, MO, from her father’s second marriage.

Ms. Iva K. Hampton was married to Elmar J. Wiggins, who proceeded her into death, and her second husband, whom she married in 1968, Mr. L.B. Hampton Sr. II.

Ms. Iva K. Hampton attended Monroe Elementary and Lincoln Jr. High School.  She continued her education at the Art Instruction School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for cartooning and illustration.  This is where she learned how to master her love for drawing, engraving and printing.

Ms. Iva K. Hampton started her career at Park Printing Company in 1966 in manufacturing.  She continued her career as a caregiver and Nurse Aid and worked at Salvation Army, Swope Bridge Nursing Home, V.A. Hospital and Children’s Mercy Hospital.  She later changed her career and started working commercial and residential housekeeping where she worked at Almeda Plaza Hotel.  That transitioned over to Ms. Hampton working for Ritz Carlton and Intercontinental Hotel where she worked for years.  She eventually would go into business for herself, cleaning houses.  Her daughter, Consuelo Rena Hampton would take over the business after Ms. Hampton retired.

Ms. Iva K. Hampton leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters; Carla D. Sanders and Consuelo Rena Hampton, three sons; Elroy C. Wiggins, Jerry C. Wiggins, and L.B. Hampton Jr. III, who proceeded her into death, all are from Kansa City, MO, one son-in-law; Tony Evans, 22 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Ms. Hampton also leaves to cherish her precious memories, 7 nieces and 8 nephews.  Ms. Hampton leaves a host of relatives and friends. She is already missed by many and loved by many more.
