Ivan was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 30, 1987 to the parents of Ivan R. and Connie J. Tyson. His father Ivan R. Tyson, Sr.; maternal grandparent Barbara Bell preceded him in death.

Ivan accepted Christ as a young child and was baptized at Second Baptist Church, Argentine, Kansas under the pastorate of Rev. Ron Taylor. He begin his work in Christ's Kingdom in all church auxiliary.

Ivan attended D. A. Holmes, Southeast Zoo Academy and Central High School. He endured many hardships throughout his life but always found the strength to overcome and achieve. In 2012 Ivan received his Certificate of High School Equivalence. Ivan also received his Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship for Automobile Mechanic. He worked at various businesses around the KCMO area including Price Choppers and Cosentino's. At his time of death Ivan was buying his first home. He was employed at Adient Automobile Mechanic as an Assembly Line Worker.

Ivan was very smart, had a great sense of humor, and loved joking around with his family, his favorite game he loved to play was chess. Today, as we gather to bid farewell to our dear Ivan, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives. Let us celebrate his life and honor his memory by embracing the qualities that made him so special. May Ivan's spirit forever guide us, and may we find solace in the knowledge that he is at peace, watching over us with eternal love. Rest in peace!

When he departed this life on June 25, 2023, he left many hearts to mourn and to cherish his memory.

He is survived by his mother, Connie J. Tyson, his grandmother Anna M. Tyson, his sisters Krystal M. Tyson (Kim), Cecilia J. Bell (David), his daughter Iyonna M. Tyson, his sons Ivyon M. Tyson and Ja'Siel D. Tyson, Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
