Listen to Obituary

Izola “Peaches” Proctor was born in Lonoke, England, Arkansas on September 5th, 1935 to Arthur Taylor and Hattie Bridget. She passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022 at Liberty Nursing Home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Izola met and later married Odis Proctor on December 16th, 1949. To this union, they had one child and one God-child. She remained a faithful wife and best friend for 73 years.

Izola and Odis lived in Lonoke, Arkansas before moving to St. Louis, Missouri in 1950. She worked as a loving nanny, taking care of families for as long as she could.

Izola joined Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Herrie Pullom and remained a faithful member until her passing.

Preceding her in death were her loving parents; her husband, Odis Proctor; four sisters, Deola Terry, Clementen Bryant, Dorothy Swift, and Deborah Martin; three brothers, Shelby Taylor, Willie (Bill) Taylor and Charles (CM) Taylor; and her god-child Geraldine Meux.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Lillian Tara Stevenson; grandchildren, Michael Weaver Jr., Myra Pendleton, Ciara Carter, and Cartecia Weaver; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
