Jackie Charles Johnson, affectionately known as "Cadillac Jack," was born on October 15, 1959, in Ashdown, Arkansas, to Dorothy Hayes and the late Charles Samuel Johnson. He passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 65.
Jackie was a proud graduate of Southeast High School, Class of 1977, in Kansas City, Missouri. He dedicated much of his career to General Motors, where he worked with pride until his retirement in 2012.
Jackie was a man who embraced life with passion and joy. He was known for his love of two-stepping on the dance floor, singing, enjoying good times with friends and family, and cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. Beyond his vibrant personality and love for life, Jackie’s faith was a cornerstone of his identity. He shared his love for Christ with those around him, bringing many souls to Christ through his kindness and testimony.
Family was at the center of Jackie’s world. He is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy Hayes, and his daughters: Darcellia Richardson, Jackee Johnson, and PeNeesha Murrell. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, JayVin Griffin, and his bonus daughter, Akila Kincy. Jackie was also blessed with the companionship of his special friend, Xanthe Avery.
Jackie is also survived by his beloved siblings: sisters Tracy Johnson, Vern Hatmaker (Anthony Hatmaker), Joyell Hayes, Chiquita Fricks, Detra Johnson Williams, and Rita Johnson Evans; and brothers Charles Johnson and Michael Colbert (Vanessa Cuffy). Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Samuel Johnson, Doris Johnson, and Vernon T. Hayes, who reared him. He is reunited in heaven with his beloved son, Jackie C. Johnson Jr.
Jackie will be remembered by a host of extended family and friends who were touched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
