On November 11, 1987 Karen Annette Jenkins gave birth to Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins in Independence, Missouri. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was named after her maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Maline Jenkins and went by her middle name, JANAY.
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her mother on Friday, February 26, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 33.
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was preceded in death by her Grandparents Jacqueline Maline Jenkins, Ira Clarence Jenkins, MaeJuana Bumpus (Grandmere) and Uncle, Ira Clifford Jenkins.
Prior to school age Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins attended Sunshine Center where she received therapy until school age. Once school age Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins attended school in Blue Springs, Missouri. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins transferred to Lakeview Woods State School where she graduated in 2009. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was very involved in school. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins attended school outings and loved getting all dressed up and arriving to prom in a limousine. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins helped host Motorcycle Day for 14 years. Upon approaching graduation she discovered the school did not have a class ring and/or key. So she had a mold made for a class ring and key and purchased hers. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins then gifted class keys for all her fellow graduates. The basement in the home residence was made into a second home so Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins could stay at home after graduation rather than being placed in a facility. Her residence had a full kitchen, living room, laundry, beauty shop, large roll in shower and two bedrooms. She had a patio, deck and sunroom with heat and air conditioning. Private Duty Nurses helped care for Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins in her home.
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins enjoyed music, television and she inherited the travel gene from her mother. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins watched all the singing and dancing shows with her grandmother. After all the younger birthday adventures, Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins began to take yearly joint vacation/birthday trips with her grandmother. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins took many trips by vehicle and by plane. Jacqueline Janay Jenkins went to Disney World where she accumulated enough miles from riding It’s A Small World to go around the world. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins attended a Luau in Hawaii for her 21st Birthday. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was on the first High Seas Rally motorcycle cruise. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins took numerous cruises on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruise lines. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins enjoyed many ocean front homes and Villas from Cinnamon Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach to Gulf Shores. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins has traveled to the Bahamas, Mexico and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins enjoyed many road trips as well; and had traveled through Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Illinois and Minnesota
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was always dressed in festive attire for the holidays. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins dressed in her local sporting gear from Roller Derby, Sporting KC, Royals and Chiefs. Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins attended Roller Derby, Soccer and Royals games.
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins was baptized and was a lifetime member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Blue Springs, Missouri. Jacqueline Janay Jenkins was not part of the choir but she felt the need to join in so often that she ended up behind the glass for the rest of the service.
Jacqueline JANAY Jenkins is survived by her parents Karen Annette Jenkins and Christopher John Bumpus both of Kansas City, Missouri. Brother Brendan Bumpus of Kansas City, Missouri. Uncles and Aunts Michael Wayne Harrison (Cheryl) of Overland Park, Kansas; Tina Caponetto (Ross) of Independence, Missouri; Samantha Gardner (Tyree Sr.) of Blue Springs, Missouri; William Bumpus of Waterbury, Connecticut; Minnette Bumpus/Easaw (James) of Washington, DC; Yvette Heath (Brian) of Atlanta, Georgia; Annette Page (Sarah Campbell) of Belton, Missouri; Babette Glenn (Eddie) of Raytown, Missouri, and a host of cousins, family, friends and caregivers.
