Jacqueline M. Moore (Burks) was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29, 1948. She departed this life on December 8, 2023.
She attended school in Kansas City, Missouri at W.W. Yates Elementary, Lincoln Jr, Lincoln Sr, and Manual Vocational High School and received a GED from the Missouri Department of Education. While living in the St. Louis area, she attended State Community College, receiving an Associate’s Degree.
She began her career working at Wheatley Provident Hospital, and Menorah Medical Center. She retired in 2013 after 28 years at the Internal Revenue Service. While at the IRS, she was an active union member, steward, and union officer, serving as a corresponding secretary, and 1st Vice President.
Jacqueline was a member of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Black United Front and a long time volunteer with the W. E. B. Dubois Learning Center. She enjoyed reading, movies, puzzles, fried fish, music, car trips and laughing out loud.
She is survived by five sisters, two brothers, twelve nieces, two special nieces, Rashonda Mills and Kentecia King, four nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
