Jacquelyn (Jacky) Vonzelle Sinclair Ross, 73, passed away on August 18, 2022, in her home in Gladstone, Missouri. She was born on March 22, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri the only child of Junius Sinclair and Emma Louis Thurman, who preceded her in death. She is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Lincoln High School and obtained her GED in 1971. She married Hartzell L Ross Sr. in her senior year of high school in 1966 and maintained a healthy relationship even after separation in 1989. She retired as a Loan Liquidation Officer from the Small Business Administration in 2012 with 32 years of service. She also worked in administrative roles with other Federal Agencies, including Housing and Urban Development and Social Security Administration. Jacky was also involved in her community and served as President of the Blue Valley Neighborhood Association for several years. She also served as Vice President of the Carriage Hills & Ellington Estates Neighborhood Associations 2018-2020. Her most recent role was as a community volunteer at the Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries. Her hobbies were community volunteering, genealogy research, crocheting, water aerobics, reading, bird watching, gardening, shopping, and puzzling with her children.
She was preceded into death by her parents, former husband, and half-brothers Michael Sinclair. She is survived by her daughters, Vonzelle D Armstrong (Tyrone), Verniece L Ross, and Eva L Jennings (Eric); her sons, Hartzell L Ross II (Selena), David L. Ross, and her half-sister Aundretta Sinclair and half-brother Wayman Sinclair. At her death her grandchildren included: Amber, Jacque, DeShena (TJ), Derrec, Tasia, Mikayla (Kaine), Justin, Taylor, Erin, Riccardo, Dominic, Dallas, Ciara, Hartzell III “ZJ”, Zaquori, Zaylani, Adrian, Ryker, Makyia, Mariah, Houston, Gabrielle, Theron, Kendall, Deneen, Connor, Logan, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Serenity Memorial Chapel LLC, 1101 Bannister Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 4:00 pm. The family will be greeting friends and relatives during the repass following the service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers, kindness, and well wishes during this very difficult time.
