Jamelia R. Sims

Ja'Melia Rose Sims affectionately known as “Me Me” was born on November 27, 2003, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Erica Jackson and Roosevelt Sims.

Ja’Melia attended Nowlin Elementary and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2022. Ja’Melia was outgoing, ambitious, and a beautiful soul to be around. She had a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. Ja’Melia’s unique sense of style made her stand out and she loved to be different. Her lifelong dream was to become a fashion designer in L.A. MeMe was adventurous, athletic and hardworking. She started playing soccer at the age of 6 until she was 17. She also worked the last 3 years as a medical assistant.

Ja’Melia loved spending time with her sisters, her brother, her nephew Makayle, and her friends. The memories she created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Her family and friends will miss her dearly and forever cherish the memories of her beautiful eyes, infectious smile, warmth, touch, humor, and style.

Ja'Melia was preceded in death by her brother Makayle, grandmother Shirley, and stepfather Alonzo.

Ja'Melia leaves to cherish her memories; her loving mother Erica, father Roosevelt, devoted siblings, her brother Marius, her sisters; Cashmonay and Alonna, her nephew Kayle, caring, grandparents; Eric Elders (Lisa) and Roosevelt Sims (Barbara) of Chicago. Ja'melia also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will hold the great times they shared with her near and dear to their hearts.
