James S. Flake, 67, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on June 30, 2021.
He was born on February 9, 1954, in Lilesville, North Carolina to James W. & Fannie Flake. He grew up in Highpoint North Carolina. He serviced in the Airforce for 4 years receiving the rank of a Sergeant. He was married on 1/22/1977 to Gwendolyn L. Garner of Kansas City, MO
He began work for the OWCP, Federal Government as a Senior Claims Examiner for 40 Years. He was a loyal member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor T.B. Baker. Also, Apostle Larry B. & Pastor Olivia C.Q. Aiken.
He was preceded into death by: Father - James W. Flake, Mother - Fannie E. Flake, Sister– Kathy Flake of High Point, North Carolina
He was survived by his wife: Gwendolyn L. Flake; children: Raymonda Flake, Shawnte’ Par- ham (Richard A. Parham) and Kacey McCollough; grandchildren: Richard (R.J.) Parham, Sharae Parham and Sharece Parham; brothers: Tony Flake, Stanley Flake (Renee Flake); sister: Carolyn Flake, and a host of nieces, nephews, many family members and friends.
