James Lewis, Jr

Mr. James Lewis Jr. was born on July 28, 1950, to Annie Pearl Mattox and James Lewis Sr in Meridian, MS. At the early age of 8, he gave his life to Christ at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. In 1962 he moved to East. St. Louis, IL, with his family.

At the age of 17 James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a military corporal and was stationed in Vietnam for most of his military career. In 1969 he was honorably discharged from the Marines.

James Lewis Jr. departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lewis Sr., mother Annie Pearl Mattox, and sister Jessie Smith.

He leaves to honor his memory: his wife, Donna Lewis of Kansas City, MO; four sisters, Dira Thompson of Gary, Indiana; Dulce (Marie) Hoskins, Carol Lewis, Johnnie Catana Mason (Tana) All of Cleveland, OH; four brothers, Kevin(Kat) Lewis& Richard Lewis (Ricky) both of East St. Louis, IL, Terry Lewis, of Kansas City, MO, Everett Mason & Cedric Lamont Mason of Cleveland, OH. Four children: one son, Ramon Cedric Johnson of East. St. Louis, IL, three daughters Assunta Catrece Johnson of Kansas City, MO, Asia Nicole Rogers, & Erica Jeneene Johnson both of St. Louis, MO, two step-daughters, Kisha Ramsey of Kansas City, MO & Yucco Conway of East St. Louis, IL six grandchildren, Brittany Symone Jones, Christopher Lamont Jones, Deanna Rene’Jones & David Lamont Jones Jr.,& Audrionna Pruitt, All of Kansas City, MO Akia Catera Rogers of St. Louis, MO, great grandchild, Niaomi Catrece-Ann Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
