James E. Lewis was born and raised in Ironton, Ohio, to Joe Lewis and Mary Louise Clark on December 25, 1935. He was one of fourteen children. Eight children lived to adulthood. He moved to Iola, Kansas in 1961 to help his brother working at Columbia Metal, Storm, Door & Window Company. In 1962 he moved to Kansas, City Missouri. He worked for Columbia Metal in North KC, MO.
He was laid off from there, and then worked for Percision Metal. He then worked for Lab-Conco where he retired. Jim liked working on cars and trucks. He also liked working on houses with his brother and liked to go deer hunting James passed away September 27, 2022 at home. James is preceded in death by both parents: Joe Lewis, and Mary Louise Clark; one brother: Joseph Lewis; three sisters: Edna Dement, Pauline Adkins, and Katherine Ross; one grandson: Barry Lee Farmer; and step-daughter: Monica L Porter He is survived by his wife: Alice Porter Lewis; brother: Ralph Lewis (Sharon Lewis ) of Stilwell, OK; sisters: Mary Littlejohn of Grover, NC, Alfreda Kyle of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters: Gina Farmer (Mike Zinser) of Sitlwell, OK, Theresa Lewis of Stilwell, OK; one son: Kelvin Tisder of Jacksonville, FL; step-children, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews, and friends.
