James Matthew McAtee, 79, passed away October 1, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on July 11, 1939 in Goodman, Mississippi to Hosie McAtee and Lillie McAtee. He grew up in Goodman, Mississippi. He graduated from Sallis High School in Salilis, Mississippi.
James worked for Consolidated Royal Chemical in Chicago, Illinois as a forklift Driver where he worked for 25 years.
James accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Marks Missionary Baptist Church in Mississippi. In May 1961 he moved to Chicago then in 2006 he relocated to Kansas City, Mo where he lived with his niece Dorothy Lucas. James enjoyed spending time with his with family. He always said that he loved all his family and had a special way of making you laugh with his comical sayings. You could often hear him singing in the shower, kitchen or from his bedroom. He loved watching sports and remained a loyal Chicago Cubs, and Bears Fan. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
James was preceded into death by his parents; Hosie and Lillie McAtee, brothers; Hosie Jr., Luther, James (Infant); sisters; Almira, Emma, Clara, Gertrude and Annie Lou.
James leaves to cherish his memories his daughter; Bianca McAtee Thompson, sisters; Irene Cole, Leola Smith (Thomas), and a host of other relatives and friends.
