James Arthur Murray, Jr.

James A. Murray, Jr., 64, passed away on October 24, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on October 15, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to James A. Murray, Sr., and Stella R. Murray. He was educated in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District and attended Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After high school he attended Business College in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1972 he joined Navy and served for 4 years. During his time of service, he was the recipient of Vietnam Era Veteran. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.

James began work for SBA as an underwriter where he worked for 20 years. He retired in 2010 after working 20 plus years. He was involved in School of Ministry, where he received a certificate.

James was preceded into death by his parents; James A. Murray, Sr., and Stella R. Murray, one older brother; Delmas Carter – Murray, maternal grandparents, and three uncles.

James leaves to cherish his memories, one son; James Arthur Murray, III., four brothers; Jerome Mitchell, Ricky Murray, Gary (Vera) Murray, Rodney Murray, one sister; Linda Murray, and a host of nieces, nephews, his loving aunt; Maxine Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
