James Arthur Nash, 67, was born on September 12, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herbert and Marjorie Berry (Nash). He was the first of nineteen children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Berry; his grandparents, James and Josie Stitt, and Booker and Lucy McKinney; three brothers, Michael, Darrell, and Fredrick; and two sisters, Eudice Berry and Carletta Davis.
James, lovingly known as “Peedie,” grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended Bowers Memorial Baptist Church. There, he accepted Christ and was baptized. In 2021, James rededicated his life to Christ and was re-baptized, reaffirming his faith and commitment to God.
He graduated from Central High School in 1976 and went on to attend Job Corps, where he earned a trade in painting and plastering. Throughout his life, James worked as a skilled painter and handyman, completing numerous projects for developers across Kansas City. He continued his work with pride and dedication up until his passing.
James enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, barbecuing, playing dominoes and cards, and listening to old school music. Known for his contagious laugh and vibrant personality, James was often the life of the party and brought joy to those around him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Marjorie Berry; his son, Raymond Ogletree, daughter-in-law Nakeisha Ogletree; his grandchildren Raquel Ogletree, Raymond Ogletree II (spouse Sydney), and Octavia Ogletree; his great-grand daughter Gianna Ogletree; his siblings: Renard Berry (best friend), Patricia Feaster, Andre Berry, Tyrone Berry, Herbert Berry, Carl Berry, Josie Gibbs (spouse Phillip), John Berry, Trevea Jones (spouse Ronnell), Michelle Carter, Natasha Berry, Michelle Berry, and Melissa Berry; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
