James Tyrone Person was born on October 17, 1964 in East St. Louis, Illinois in St. Mary’s Hospital at 11:50 am, 6 pounds 5 oz. Healthy with a loud cry. James slipped quietly into eternity on Friday, June 1, 2018 at The North Kansas City Hospice House after a long battle with an illness (cancer) that brings us to this day. He was the third child born into a family that just smothered him with so much love. By the time he was two years of age, our mom moved the family across the river to the Missouri side. Tyrone or Rone as he was affectionately called was a very happy and busy child once he learned to walk. He would try to run everywhere he went eventually mastering the running skill. Fast Rone was the one that would help in any way that he could. A hard worker, Ty began his education in St. Louis at Patrick Henry Elementary School graduating from eight at Carr Lane Elementary. He started High School at Vashon High School finishing 9th grade. In 1979 our mother then moved to Kansas City, MO. With Ty & younger sister Gwen. Starting his sophomore year at Paseo High he couldn’t adjust. His heart was still in St. Louis (Cochran), Ty left school and went into the Job Corps in Ogden, Utah. After many struggles he received his G.E.D. Trone faced some hard and rough times in his life. But he knew that he had a praying mother. And no matter where life took him, he would often call his (Mother Dear) as he would call her. Just to pray, encourage and calm him down. He was baptized at Good News Temple Church, now Apostolic Church of God. His Favorite Scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6. Unc fought a good fight, with his family by his side all the way. He will be missed by all that knew him, especially his (Caidy Baby) his great great niece.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Ms. Dorothy Holley; his brother Rolander Person (Donna); his sister, Gwen Pulliam all of St. Louis, MO. His oldest sister momma #2 Mrs. Verna Walker (Michael) of Kansas City, MO. A very dear and close friend, Vanessa Jackson, his ride or die Bonnie and Clyde niece (Neen); Everybody Nickey and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
