Jamesetta Yvonne Dennis, 74, departed this earthly journey into Glory on Friday February 2, 2025, at the KC Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born on March 4, 1950, in Kansas City, KS to Emma Jean Pipkin, in which she was the first of four children. She was raised by her grandparents Luella Campbell & Frank Francis.
She attended Lincoln High School in Kansas City, MO.
Jamesetta entered the workforce and worked at: a photo retouch company, Rival Industries, MidAmerica Wholesale, Peterson Cap & Gown, and Villa Ventura before she retired in 2015. She then did part-time work at Big Lots and “daycare” watching her first great-grandson, Christian R. Moore.
Jamesetta was baptized in Jesus’ name at a young age. She loved the Lord very much. She joined and made Sheffield Family Life Center her church home while also attending Maranatha Family Worship Center.
Jamesetta married Harold M. Dennis on October 19,1987, and they were happily married for 37 years. Her love for family knew no bounds. A few of her favorite hobbies were embroidery, bowling, and cooking for her family.
She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, rather it was words of comfort, a knock on your door with a random card, or a gift just because it was on her heart to do so.
She loved her family and friends unconditionally, those near and far. She had so much love for others that she took in several “sons, daughters, sisters, and brothers.” She was a true ray of light to anyone who met or knew her.
Jamesetta was preceded into death by her mother, Emma Jean Pipkin, brother Solomon Anderson Jr., granddaughter Quiere L. Harris; bonus children: Chalena Davis and Charles Johnson; and grandson TaeVeon Johnson.
Jamesetta leaves to cherish her legacy, her husband Harold Dennis, daughters: Yvonne Harris and Quiana Harris, sons: Marcellus Clayton and Marlon Clayton; sister Barbara Hogan, brother Robert Anderson, granddaughters: Quiara Moore (Alex), Shakina Shelby, Kendra Davis, LaRhonda Jones, MaZhae Johnson, Talisha Brown, and Marionna Clayton; grandsons: Marcellus Lofton, Marshawn Clayton, Charles Johnson Jr., TaeZhon Johnson, and Tyion LaMaster; a lifetime best friend, Joyce Canady; godchildren: Dewitt Canady, Tonya Canady, Marcus Canady, and Shonette Canady; special friends and family: Shirley Birdwell, Major Hunter, Maxine Thomas, Louise Mott, Carolyn Washington, Rodrick & Christina Simmons, Quenton Petty; and a host of other relatives and friends.
