Jane E. Nash

Ms. Jane Elizabeth (Choteau) Nash was born on June 23rd, 1944, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to the parents of Ellena Choteau (Mother) and Clarence Williams (Father). She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy Nash Jr, Brothers – Denver Parlor, Gus Maxkey, Wally McDowell Jr, Johnny Harlin, Author Harlin, Sisters – Willie Mae Harlin, Sue Mae Hughes.

Ms. Jane Nash born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, she was the 7th of 12 siblings. She would move to Kansas City, Missouri during her teenage years and soon get married but this union lasted briefly. Soon after she would meet someone amazingly special in her life. (BJ)

Ms. Jane worked at a Cleaners as a (Clothes Presser), Whitaker Cable a (Machinist). In the early 70’s Ms. Jane and her partner would decide to become entrepreneurs. This was precedent during this time as economic imbalance existed for those who were of color and especially for a woman of color. She would enjoy success owning several residential properties, arcade amusement business and a well-known Social-Club (Royal Inn).

If you ever visit this place, you might have tasted her cooking the best golden fried chicken, hot water cornbread and made from scratch 3-layer German Chocolate cake.

Ms. Jane Nash enjoyed waking up in the morning to tend to her plants. She would nurture these beautiful house plants with some lasting for years at a time. Her other favorite pass time was music. Even in her late years of life she would listen to all the latest R & B artist.

Prior to her passing Ms. Jane Nash would work as a Senior Companion for the elderly and sharing her time with family and close friends.

You see throughout her journey Ms. Jane would remain a modest individual but left a lasting impression in life as an inspiration and prime example of a strong woman of color.

Ms. Jane Elizabeth Nash is survived by Brothers – Lawrence Harlin, Frank Harlin, Lewis Harlin. Sister – Nita Joe Johnson. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins. Kirk Shelton (Harriet), Friends (Pat & Meta), Neighbor (Jessie).

She will be greatly missed.
