Janice Uneeda Revels, 71, of Kansas City, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2024. Janice was born in Kansas City, MO on May 7, 1953, to the parents of Clifford James and Angie Lee Echols who currently reside in KCMO. Janice has all surviving siblings, four brothers and one sister: Ernest (Jeri) Echols of KCMO, Eddie (Beverly) Echols of KCMO, Gregory Echols of KCMO, Karen Johnson of KCMO and Chris Echols of KCMO.
Janice is the mother of 5 children: Charlotte R. Dupree of Desoto, TX, Carla R. Ford of Dallas, TX, Caira R. (John) Dean of Grand Prairie, TX, Russell B. (Kendra) Revels of KCMO, and Richard (Ricky) R.B. Revels of KCMO (Deceased). Janice has 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a great host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Janice retired from Missouri Gas Energy after 40+ years of employment. She continued her education at Western Baptist Bible College and was only one class away from getting an associate degree in Christian Education. She was constantly improving her education and learning. She was a leader in many local church communities. She was very creative in her implementation of church education and activities for the youth. She was very giving and always helped those in need. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and always encouraged others to think and act positive. She was faithful to her church communities and often helped with the church pantry and serving the sick in the hospitals. She loved to read and write poems. She is the author of “Power n 24/7 Praise”, a book that illustrates how to have power and to live victorious through the stress and struggles of life. Janice was passionate about family, unity, and love. She always enjoyed time with her family at reunions and special occasions. She loved to make green rice broccoli casserole for family gatherings and she loved to laugh and dance to the ‘Cupid Shuffle’ song. She touched the lives of so many people. She bought joy and light to any room she walked in. Although she had many, one of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 91.
