Jaquon D Harris

Jaquon Harris departed this life September 20, 2018 at Truman Medical Center Kansas City, Missouri. He was born August 6, 1995 to Matthew Harris and Reshonda Knight, also in Kansas City.

Jaquon was proceeded in death by his beloved brother Daveontae Harris, and an uncle Corey Knight. As well as various other loved ones he held dear to his heart.

“Jayrock” as he was affectionately called spent his childhood between KC, Joliet, Illinois, and Holly Grove , Arkansas. However Kansas City would always be Home, and he returned there to live until his untimely passing.

Quon was educated in the KCMSD , including Northeast High School. He held various jobs over his young life, most recently Kauffman Stadium and UPS. He was currently enrolled in, and attending GED classes.

In September of 2015, Jaquon was faced with the loss of one of his best friends , Kameron. Instead of using this loss and pain for negative, he used it to not only help himself, but to assist Kam's family and the community. He volunteered and helped remodeled the building that would become the “ Kam Gang Community Center “ within weeks of losing his friend. After working on the building he attended church the following weekend with the volunteers. It was that Sunday , at External Life Church & Family Center (Kansas City, MO) that Jaquon gave his life to Christ !

He leaves to cherish his memory : his loving mother Reshonda Knight-Williams (Calvin ) ; devoted father Matthew Harris ; four sisters Kelise Harris, Kimbella Harris, Shalonda Bowen , and Tiera Wren ; two brothers Kevin Bowen Jr and Xavier Harris ; maternal grandparents Regina Knight and Larry Herron ; paternal grandparents Rosie Vasser and Charles Manning ; two aunts, Lorinda Vasser and Latasha Knight ; two uncle’s , Charles Harris and Shandon Jones ; three nieces and six nephews. As well as a host of cousins, great aunts and uncles , friends, and other loved ones .
