Jene A. Fisher was called home to her final resting place on October 3, 2025, at Carnegie Village in Belton, Missouri where she was called to be with the Lord. She was born in 'Belzoni, Mississippi, to the late Louella Thigpen and Clemson Smiley.
Jene attended Hillside High School and went on to build a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and compassion. She dedicated many years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Meyers Nursing Home, where she cared for others with kindness and patience.
She was united in marriage to Robert Fisher, with whom she shared 28 wonderful years. Together they raised 11 children (8 sons and 3 daughters) and built a legacy filled with love. Jene’s family grew to include more than 40 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who brought her endless joy and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Louella Thigpen and Clemson Smiley, her husband Robert Tisher, her daughter Sheila Redmond, brothers: Charles, John, and Tommy Lipsey, and sister Betty Hightower.
Jene leaves behind her two siblings: David Smiley and Deborah McClenton (Elgin); her surviving children and their spouses: Donnie (Wanda), Linda (Robert), Tyrone (Mattie), James (Ella), Ricky, Donald (Johnnie Mae), Jeffery (Tanya), Mark (Alicia), Michael (Debbie), and Alberta (Adrian); along with her bonus children: Charles (Chrissy), Cheryl (Otha), Cynthia (Arthur), and Jo'Anna (Martez Sr.).
Jene loved going to the casino, spending quality time with family and close friends, and sharing her bright smile with everyone she met. Her love, laughter, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
