Jerome Norris Jr.

Jerome Norris Jr., 71, passed away on May 15, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. He was born on February 24,1955, in Kansas City, KS., to Jerome Norris Sr. and Doris Nadine Norris. He grew up in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Westport High School in 1973. After high school he joined the National Guard Reserve and served for 5 years. He was stationed at The World War I Memorial and The Kansas City National Guard Armory. He worked for Children’s Mercy Hospital, where he met his beloved wife (T-Baby) Teresa Norris. He enjoyed sketching, drawing, and his hometown teams - The Chiefs and Royals. He married

Teresa Norris on April 8,1989, in Kansas City. They were happily married for 37 years.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents: Jerome Norris Sr., Nadine Norris; son, Damien Simpson; and siblings: Shirley Looney, Walter Mathis, Robert Mathis, and Francis O’Neal.

Jerome is survived by his spouse, Teresa Norris (Daughter - Tanikia Gunnels); siblings: Beverly Young, Donna Norris, Alyce Mitchell (Willie), Angela Norris; grandchildren: Kiera Gunnels, Trevon Gunnels, Daveon Burdette, Jaden Simpson, Javon Simpson, and Damien Simpson Jr., six great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
