Jerome Martel Ross was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on June 11, 1977, to Essie Ross and I.V. Gibson. He departed this life on December 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father.
After receiving his education at Van Horn High School, he worked several jobs. One of his first jobs was working construction doing foundation work. He then began working as a plumber, which was his true calling. His last job was with A.B. May.
Jerome Ross and Rika Frazier have 2 children, Jazmyn, and Ryan, which he always said were the best thing that ever happened to him. He was also a father figure to her son Michael. Once that relationship was dissolved, he began dating Latonya Austin. He became a father figure to her daughter Samone as well. The two had been in a relationship up until his death.
Jerome was like a big kid. He had no problem making himself look silly just to get a laugh. Even if you were having an argument with him, it was hard to stay mad at him for a long time. Many of the arguments were about sports and his favorite team the New York Giants.
He absolutely loved being around and playing with his and everyone else’s children. If the kids wanted to play games, no matter what type, he was their go to. One of the last things he did on Christmas was have a drawing contest with his daughter Jazmyn and niece Tianna.
Jerome had an undeniable bond with his children. They absolutely adored their daddy. No matter where they were or who was around, they had to be right under him, sitting in his lap and hanging off him. Jazmyn always said that her daddy said she could sit on his lap until she was twenty-one years old. Everyone asked him why he let them continue to sit on him the way they did. He would always say that he knew the day would come when they would no longer want to.
Jerome leaves to cherish his memory (All of Kansas City, Missouri): his precious children, Jazmyn and Ryan Ross; his devoted mother, Essie Ross; (Father figure who raised him since the age of two) Thomas Harvey; life partner, Latonya Austin; three sisters, Sharee Jackson, Yolanda, and Denise (Nikki) Gibson; two brothers, Thomas Ross (Lashelle Ross), and Steven Harris; nieces, Tianna Ross, Markeisha Yancey, Draya Price, Mya, Anastasia, and Andrea Harris; nephews, Braydon Mitchell, Marcus Wright, Jr., Drake Price, and Landon Harris; close cousin, Christopher Ross; close family friends, Gertrude, Marcus, and Myron White, and Larnell and Darnell Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close childhood friends.
