Jerra T. Wade passed away on January 16, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital(Plaza), in Kansas City, MO. Jerra was born on July 13, 1955 in Jonesboro, LA to Jewel Wade and Annie Raye Wade. Jerra grew up in Kansas City, where he attended Southeast High School and later obtained his GED in the U.S. Navy.

After Highschool Jerra attended Neosho Water and Wastewater School in Neosho, MO, where he received an Associate Degree in Wastewater Mgmt. Jerra joined the U.S. Navy in 1972 and served for 4 years where he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. Jerra also achieved the rank of Air Transportation Occups. 912.

Jerra worked several jobs in the Kansas City area including the Kansas City Fire Department as a Firefighter, the Public Works Water Department, Ford Motor Company, Union Pacific Railroad and the Raytown School District.

Jerra married Michelle Lewis on October 2, 2010 in Kansas City, they were happily married for 11 years.

Jerra was preceded in death by his father Jewel Wade.

Jerra is survived by his wife; Michelle Wade, mother; Annie Wade, children; Jamaica Wade-Robinson, Jacqueline Wade, and Jerra (Jay) Wade Jr. (Destiny) stepchildren; Timishia Lewis, Timmye Lewis, April Lewis, Jasmine Thomas, Corielle Thomas, Stephon Lewis, D’eric Watson and Donte’ Watson, siblings; LaDon Wade (Diane), Phyllis LaMaster (Anthony) Amy Wade-Wright, Orlando Todd Wade(Evette), Tyrone Jones, and Valerie Cobbins(Eric), 29 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
