Jessie Marie Jackson was born September 11, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bonner (deceased), she was the second oldest of four children. Jessie attended Forrest City public schools in Forrest City, Arkansas. At 11 years old, Jessie's mother died and she became the caretaker for her siblings and moved in with her grandparents William and Sara Ann Bonner. In 1950, Jessie came to Kansas City, Missouri and lived in the 18th and Vine Jazz District above the "Blue Room", which is what it is called today. In 1952, John and Jessie began working as a couple for Dr. Richard L. Sutton and Mrs. Serena N. Sutton as their house keepers, inside and out and their family caterer. Entrepreneurship is what they instilled into their children. In 1962, as a couple they joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in the leadership of Reverend Earl Abel where Jessie was a Sunday school teacher, Prayer Warrior, Cook and a devoted choir member. Mr. Jackson had a daughter prior to meeting Jessie named Gloria Jean Lane, and at the age of 12 she came to live with John and Jessie, and Jessie loved her as her own. John and Jessie had four children, John Jackson III (Francis), Avis Marie, Joseph Anthony (Kim), and Sarah Lynn. Jesus welcomed Jessie into the Kingdom of Heaven on February 19, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House to be rejoined with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bonner, her brothers Lee Herman Murray and Eric "Jean" Washington, her spouses John Jackson Jr., Oliver Jones and Herbert Polson (Jessie loved her husbands), her daughter Gloria Jean Lane and her precious grandson Carlos Cooper. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved sister Margaret Ann Conley, her "4 and no more", John, Avis, Joseph, and Sarah.
