Jessie Winston Jr.

Mr. Jessie Winston, Jr, was born in Canton, Mississippi on November 15, 1948, th the union of Jessie and Ethel Winston, he was the oldest of ten children. He was preceded in death by both parents, teo brothers; Jimmie and Floyd Winston, one sister; Pamela D. Winston, two uncles; John B. Peel and Calvin Sanders, and two aunts; Rosetta Tate and Bertha Lipsey. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri in the late 60's. As a former member of the Emmanuel Baptist church, under the leadership of the late Bishop W. H. White, Sr., he served on the Usher Board for over two years. He worked for the TCI Tire Company 9formerly McDowell Tire Company) for 45 years until he became disabled. Jessie was known to everybody as "Little Bro and Jed." He enjoyed riding horses, working on cars, and loved his pig Arnold. He was a member of the Hill Top Saddle Club, he also participated in the Saddle Club parades all over the country. On Friday October 14, 2016, the Angel of Mercy came for him and sealed the lips of our father, grandfather, and brother. His soul winged its flight from this world of pain and sorrow to a place to peaceful rest. Jessie leaves to cherish his memories; three sons; Rodney N. Winston (Nadia), Sean E. Byrd (Carmen), and Ronnie N, Winston, and three daughters; Pamela D. Biggs, Tabitha A. Smith and Jessica M. Winston, and nine grandchildren; Marquis Hall, Marquitta Hall, Christopher Cordero-Winston, Rodney N. Winston, Jr,. Samantha "Sammie" Park, JaBari Prichett, Ramiya Winston, Eric Bryd, Juliana Byrd, two sisters; Helen Brewer (Eddie) and Gladys Winston, four brothers; Charles Winston, John Winston (Janice), Johnnie Winston and James Winston; two aunts; Bessie Escoe and Corene Ellis, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
