Joda Harold Cain, Iii

Joda H Cain III (Bookie) passed away in his home on July 16, 2018 in Kansas City, MO after an aggressive battle with liver cancer. He was 43.

Bookie was born April 8, 1975 at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, MO to his parents, Joda and Colleen Cain. He obtained his G.E.D and later pursued a bachelor’s degree at University of Phoenix. He eventually followed his father’s footsteps by joining the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 3 and worked there until his untimely death.

On April 22, 2017, he married Gillian Johnson. Bookie was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, family dinners, playing pool, playing domino's and anything else that celebrated life with family and friends. Bookie loved telling stories and was known to be a great listener who also had good advice for anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Joda is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Joda and Carrie Cain; maternal grandparents Jerry and Mary Bailey; brother, Tyrone Cain and special nephew, Michael Foreman. He is survived by his wife, Gillian; his children, Joda, Travion, Mateo, Eniko, Zoey and Skye, father; Joda Cain Jr., mother; Collen Cain, siblings, Jozetta (Deryal) Williams, Tanicia (Jerel) Davis and Carrie Cain; nieces, Latina, Natasha, Maya, Lytiana Saniya, Damila; nephews, Micus, Chris, Jamaury and Isreal; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
