It is with great sadness that we share the news of Jody Marie Hogsett Maxwell McGinnis, 71, of Pumas Lake, CA passing February 12, 2017 due to cancer. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri She was a scholarship winner to her high school, St. Teresa's Academy, where she maintained an A average for 4 years before receiving her bachelors degree in Theater and Speech from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Jody was a 30 year resident of the Yuba Sutter area. Jody was an avid bowler along with her husband of 33 years and was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Thirsty Thursday Bowling league for more than 20 years until the time of her death Jody was a teacher for many years in Yuba City and throughout Sutter County. Before becoming a teacher, Jody was an actress and writer. Under the name "Jody Maxwell", she starred in adult movies and wrote for several men's magazines in the 1970s, which many now call the Golden Age of Erotica. Jody has been written about, or been interviewed, by hundreds of publications throughout the world. She has also had photo layouts in several magazines. Jody also performed in her own comedy stage show, an adult, sexy stand up comedy act to sellout audiences wherever she performed. In January 2006, she was inducted into the Legends or Erotica Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, Nevada She was involved in politics for many years including holding several offices in the Republican party in the Kansas City area. She is survived by her husband Bruce of Plumas Lake, CA, brother Don Hogsett of Kansas City, MO, sister Traci Hogsett of Naples, FL, brother Terry Hogsett of Naples, FL, and brother Mike Price of Komah, WS. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen, father Joseph, and daughter Connie Marie Maxwell. Graveside service will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society .
