Joe Price, Sr. was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 2, 1972, to Louis and Gertrude Price. He graduated from Westport High School in 1990. Joe was known for his infectious laughter, big heart, and unwavering kindness. Joe had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. He loved to be around his family and friends. He married the love of his life Lakisha Price on August 4, 2001, whom he cherished traveling and laughing with her. Joe departed this life on June 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie & Omadell Price, and Andrew & May France Brown, his grandparents-in-law, Larry & Dorothy Stephenson, his parents, Louis & Gertrude Price his brother, Robert A. Gatewell, IV, and his son Jerel Price. Professionally, Joe dedicated many years to Grainger, where his hard work and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. However, it was his personal passions that truly defined him. Joe loved cooking, and his kitchen was always filled with the aromas of the delicious meals he prepared for his family and friends. Whether he was whipping up a feast for family gatherings or experimenting with new recipes, cooking brought him immense joy. Joe was a devoted family man, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. He also had a deep love for life and a particular fondness for the Kansas City Chiefs, rarely missing a game and always cheering his team on with enthusiasm. He leaves behind his beautiful family: Loving wife LaKisha Price, his six children, Joe Price Jr(Carmen Price), Courtney Price, Joy Price, Jibril Anderson Price, Debrahnna Simmons, and Jasmyne Price his ten grandchildren, Noah Price, London Price, Jabrielle Price-Williams, Kacyn Price, Ariyah Sauls, Deriyn Sauls, Adonis Sauls, Aiden Sauls, Annalia Gallardo, and Amara Gallardo, his siblings, Dianna Stevenson , Jimmie Price, Grace Price, Vincent Price(Gayle Price), Nicole Price, Latisha(John Porter), LaRoshia Brooks(Victor Brooks), Rashonda Joseph(James Joseph), Samuel Gatewell Sr.(Dolores Gatewell), Ieshia Riley) and his mother-in-law Dorthy Williams. His honorary brothers Chris Stiggers, Lawrence Morang, Jarrett Scott. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Joe’s legacy of love, joy, and culinary passion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
