John Calvin Bazzle Jr.

John Calvin Bazzle Jr., 46, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 26, 2026. Affectionately known as “JC”, he was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to John Calvin Bazzle Sr. and Alicia Gayle (Garrett) Bazzle. He grew up in Raytown, Missouri, graduating from Raytown South High School; Class of 1998. As an adult, JC established a career in the healthcare insurance industry.

JC was easy-going and lived his life simply. But more importantly, he was kind. JC was silly, loved to make people laugh, and was a true kid at heart. He enjoyed life to the fullest and appreciated many things including traveling, family vacations, fish and aquariums, and dogs. But there were some things that were very close to his heart.

If you knew JC, a.k.a. "The GOAT’", you would know he loved his family and would never miss an opportunity to celebrate a birthday, enjoy a family BBQ, or just gather together. No matter the occasion, JC was there. But Sundays were his favorite. Sundays meant personal time with his family, catching up, watching sports, and enjoying his Mama’s cooking.

JC also had an extreme passion for sports, in particular, basketball and football. He LOVED the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Kansas City Chiefs. Each season, he was always ready to watch his teams play, and there was never a day that JC wasn’t listening to sports radio or watching many of his favorite sports analysts break down the game. In fact, JC was so passionate about sports and his teams that he would often engage in lively, animated debates.

JC’s love for music was undeniable. From Rap and R&B to Pop and Soft Rock – JC loved it all. But his favorite group of all time was Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. From the moment they were discovered, JC was a fan. But he wasn’t just any fan–he was the ultimate fan.

As an avid gamer, JC became drawn to the world of gaming at an early age when he received his first Nintendo in the 1980’s. From that point on, JC immersed himself in learning how to play, perfecting his skills, and made gaming a part of his daily life. So, it was no surprise that some of his talents included working with electronics and being tech savvy. Whatever it was, JC could connect it, set it up, and troubleshoot just about any device you put in front of him.

Throughout his life, JC left a lasting impression on those who knew him and his presence will be deeply missed. Even in passing, JC continued to touch the lives of others through the gift of organ donation with Midwest Transplant Network.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Eugene and Dorothy Marshall, and his paternal grandparents, William and Betty Bazzle.
