John E. Brown

John E. Brown, 78, passed away on July 20, 2023, at Ignite Medical Resort in Blue Springs, MO. He was born on December 13, 1944, in Kansas City, MO to Johnetta Patterson. He grew up in Kansas City, MO.  John graduated from Lincoln High School.  He began working for GSA as a Supply/Discrepancy Tech for 25 years.  John accepted Christ at an early age. He loved life, was very hospitable, enjoyed time together with family during family gatherings, especially his children, and spoiling his grandchildren.  John met the love of his life, Elberta Reese. They were married on August 28, 1976, and they were happily married for 46 years.  John E. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Johnetta Patterson.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories of John are his loving wife, Elberta Brown; sons, Kevin Reese (Misty), Craig Reese, and Delmario Reese; sister, Sandra Sims; brothers, Ronnie Patterson (Ida), Kenneth Patterson, Terry Patterson (Lisa), and Craig Patterson (Anita); grandchildren, Dante’ Reese, Isaiah Reese, Liv Gunter, Denzel Brooks, Iman Hood, Cortez Battles, and Keante Battles; great-grandchildren,  Apollo Reese; sisters- in-law, Pernola Reese, Shirley Jefferson, and Rita Reese; brothers-in-law, Charles Donahue, and Harold Reese; a very wonderful cousin who held a special place in John’s heart, Jesse Freese; the Macklin and Brown families; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
