John Norton Jackson Jr. was born on August 16, 1953 in Kansas City, KS to John Jackson Sr. and Etta Williams. He was the second oldest of eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Debora Jackson, his children John, Dontae, and Eric. His grandson Velik, granddaughter Dominique, and his sister Annette.

John was raised in the church. He was baptized at Faith Deliverance in Kansas City, KS as a child. Later in life he joined Forest Grove under the leadership of Dr. Desmond Lamb where he was a faithful and a member of the Usher Board until his health declined.  John attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS.  John had 3 children, Lietria, John III, and Dontae with Debra Brown.John and Lois Taylor (Lewis) were married and raised LaTochia.  John and Debora Miller (Jackson) were married and raised 7 children LuVera, Erika, Eric, Tamika, Ivan, Sharday, and Gina. John raised Ja’Shanelle with Tracy Mays.  John worked as an environmental engineer for KU Medical Center and Medical Lodge East.

John loved music, he loved to dance and spend time with his family and friends. He also told funny jokes. He was known to give out nicknames that stuck. He was a sharp dresser. Everyone who met him loved him. His infectious smile and love for life always shined through.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children Lietria Brown (Jennifer) of Olathe, KS, LaTochia Jackson (Romero) of Kansas City, KS, LuVera Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada, Erika Jackson (DeMichael) of Loveland, CO, Tamika Brownlee (Travis) of Colorado Springs, CO, Ivan Jackson (Medina) of Colorado Springs, CO, Sharday Jackson (Clayton) of Colorado Springs, CO, Gina Blakeley of Kansas City, KS, Ja’Shanelle Jackson of Arlington, TX. His grandchildren Renika, D’Coven, Erianna, Assere’t, Dakota, Jayon, Jailond, Jardan, Debrohn, Ivan Jr., Travis II, Marcus, Shauntanice, Caiden, Treasure, Travianna, Tianna, Em’mya, Travan, Trey, and Trinity. Great grandchildren Mervin, Zaiden, Leah, and Aziyah. His siblings Stonewall Jackson, Jean Baker (Kenneth), Lenord Jackson (Deborah), Sivie Jackson (Zack), Darrell Jackson (Deborah), Jacquelyn Page, and Ronald Davis (Nita) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends and his special friend Linda Marshall.
