John Wesley Sims was born on January 21, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away at his home on December 1, 2022. His mother Alfreda Sims, father Robert L. Oliver, adoptive father, Ernest Milo, brothers Alfred E. Sims, Booker T. Sims, Dwayne Oliver, and Roger Lawrence Milo, and three nephews, Regis Sims, Andre Sims, Alphonso Sims and sister-in-law, Tracy Sims, all preceded him in death.
John attended Central High School in Kansas City. He was well known for his cooking and baking skills. He was always giving advice to his friends and relatives on how to cook. He was great at carpentry, and plumbing, and very skilled in the construction trade he learned from his father. John attended the Gospel Mission Baptist Church and enjoyed using his construction skills there whenever needed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his adoptive mother, Carrie Milo of Kansas City, Missouri, five sisters: Yvette Sims, Barbara Riggins, Johnnie-Michelle Young, Sophia Wiles (Freddie), Alene Metoyer (John Wayne), of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mattie Henderson of Dallas, Texas, seven brothers James (Vanessa) Sims, Robine Sims, Zeno Sims, Robbie Oliver, Gregory Milo, Elvy (Tina) Milo of Kansas City, Ernest Milo (Teresa Cheatom) of Columbia, Missouri, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family of John Wesley Sims extends its appreciation for the generous love and ongoing support received during this time. May the Lord God continue to bless and keep you.
