Jordan Matthews was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 8, 1994 to Juvonda Sapho and Timothy Matthews. Jordan received his education in the Kansas City Missouri School District. Jordan attended and graduated Southwest High School. Jordan professed his love for Christ at an early age. Jordan attend Shammah House of Worship, and Mt Nebo. Jordan had a love for playing the drums all of his life. This love led him to become a member of the KC Marching Falcons. It was then, Jordan adopted the nickname, “Steve” being part of the drumline.
Jordan had a passion for cutting grass and weed eating from his grandpa, James. Jordan would have drumsticks in one hand, and the Bible in the other. Jordan was kind, gentle, loving, and couldn’t be mad more than two minutes. Jordan had a heart of gold and would put others before himself. Jordan loved his family and really considered everyone he knew his family.
Jordan gained his wings on April 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother; Pauline Ansley, and his favorite grandmother; Beverly Whitney.
Jordan leaves to cherish his memories his mother; Juvonda Sapho, step father; Richard Sapho, two brothers; Jaylen Sapho and Juron Sapho, his grandfather; James Whitney (Tressa). Jordan was also blessed to have Reginald “Pop” Herbert as a positive role model in his life that gave him the name “Jiggy.” He also leaves to cherish his memories his father; Timothy Matthews (Stephanie Kerr), and to cherish his memories are is other brothers and sisters, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
